Tralee & Dingle Light Railway

Home Narrow Gauge Dingle  Cultra Dingle to Donegal

Click on the map below to get the more detailed map of that area (along the route of the line obviously).   The map below is copied from the Dingle Train by David Rowlands and was drawn by David H Smith.  I have tried to keep the integrity of each map rather than reduce it.  The whole route is available bar a short section at Tonnevane.  These are 6" to the mile maps from around 1905.

Please note: these maps are for research only and this is a non-profit making site.  However, please contact me if this causes a problem and I will remove them.   CONTACT

The Tralee page also has a modern map with the route of the railway superimposed on it.  Comparing the growth of the town over 100 years is revealing).

To put the maps in some sort of context, I have put the gradient profiles for the main line and branch here.  Copied form the Tralee & Dingle Railway by Pat Whitehouse printed in 1958.

Ordnance Survey Ireland have produced a free resource of 25 inch to the mile maps of Southern Ireland.  By zooming out modern 1:50000 maps are seen, but by clicking on the right you can access historic maps.
